About IMAIOS vet-Anatomy

IMAIOS vet-Anatomy is an interactive atlas of veterinary anatomy built on medical imaging and illustrations, designed for veterinary students, surgeons, and radiologists who need detailed anatomical reference material.

Unlike traditional textbook atlases, this app delivers radiological anatomy through real medical images—X-rays, CT scans, and MRI studies—across multiple species including dogs, cats, horses, cattle, and mice. Each image is labeled in 12 languages, including Latin Nomina Anatomica Veterinaria, making it accessible to international veterinary professionals. The atlas was developed in partnership with Dr. Susanne AEB Boroffka, ECVDI graduate and PhD, bringing clinical expertise directly into the learning experience.

The app's interactive tools make anatomy study far more effective than static pages. Drag your finger to scroll through image sets, pinch to zoom in on fine anatomical detail, and tap labels to reveal structures by name. You can also filter labels by anatomical category to focus your review on specific systems, or use the index search to quickly locate any structure across the atlas. The training mode lets you test your knowledge of labeled anatomy, reinforcing what you've learned. The app adapts to both portrait and landscape orientations, so you can study however suits your workflow.

Access works in two ways: if your university or library provides institutional access, log in with your IMAIOS member account to unlock all modules (though the app periodically checks your connection to verify your account). New users can subscribe for continuous access—your subscription automatically renews each period so you don't lose access to updates and new species modules added during your subscription. You can manage or cancel your subscription anytime through your Play Store account settings, at least 24 hours before the renewal date.

Note that additional downloads are required to access the full functionality of the app after installation. Your subscription also grants you access to vet-Anatomy on the IMAIOS website, so you can reference the same atlas on desktop or mobile as needed.

IMAIOS vet-Anatomy combines the learning science of interactive tools with the clinical rigor of real medical imaging, giving you an anatomy resource built for modern veterinary education and practice.
